Simulation Lab

Training Center for Students and Educators
The Trinity Health Simulation Laboratory, located in Muskegon, Michigan, was founded in 2010 on the Mercy Health Partners General Hospital Campus. It is currently located near Trinity Health Muskegon’s hospital, in the Trinity Health Medical Center – Hackley. This was originally a collaboration of Muskegon Medical Control Authority, Region 6 Bio-Defense Network Coalition, the Office of Public Health Preparedness of Michigan, and Department of Community Health.
The training center provides resident doctors, nurses, emergency medical services, surgery technicians, sports medicine, fire departments, and community educators programs including simulated scenarios & environments using computerized equipment and medical technology. Some of the scenarios incorporate open-heart resuscitation, ultra-sound diagnostics, obstetric procedures, emergency cardiac & respiratory interventions, etc.
The lab has simulation/control rooms, multiple classrooms, and debriefing and procedure rooms. The lab features high-fidelity training mannequins in environments replicating an ER trauma bay and other hospital & clinical rooms. There are male & female manikins in different life stages, neonate to geriatric. These manikins have human functions; blinking, talking, breathing and vital signs. The Lab allows Muskegon and surrounding counties’ health and public safety professionals to prepare for “real-world” on-the-job situations.
