About Medicaid Coverage

Many people in Michigan must renew their Medicaid coverage to keep their health insurance. You may receive a letter, text, or message from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) telling you when it is time to renew.

Coverage is Care is a resource from Trinity Health Michigan to help you understand the renewal process and connect to helpful resources. Medicaid renewals and eligibility decisions are handled by MDHHS through the MI Bridges website.

How to Keep Your Medicaid Coverage

Most people can keep their Medicaid coverage by completing three simple steps:

Step 1: Update Your Contact Information

Make sure MDHHS has your current address, phone number and email. If your contact information is not up to date, you may miss important renewal notices. Go to MI Bridges to update your information if anything has changed, including:

  • Address
  • Phone Number
  • Email
  • Household size
  • Income
