TrinityElit Sports Medicine

Allyson Calhoun, ATC, LAT

My journey becoming an athletic trainer is probably very similar to many of my colleagues. Getting injured as a college soccer player, introduced me to the athletic training room, and what a cool setting it would be to work in. My experience over the years has been in many of the traditional settings, from college to clinic to high school outreach, and administrative oversight of the high school setting. What I do know is that outreach athletic trainers are such a valuable part of the medical community and connect the athletes to physicians to families. This is an integral part in the student athletes' well-being, and we can connect them with physicians and our circle of care. I really enjoy being part of an athlete's journey on understanding their health and well-being, as a student athlete.
