Kelly Correa, MDDr. Kelly Correa is a Michigan native, having grown up in Ypsilanti, MI and attending Albion College where she majored in Chemistry. She went on to attend medical school at Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine in Hershey, PA where she also worked at Hershey's Chocolate world and enjoyed many free chocolate milkshakes. She was also the director of the non-profit organization, The Uganda Village Project for two years while in medical school and this experience ignited her passion for global health and community service. Dr. Correa did her EM residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, where she learned all her trauma and procedural skills, as well as how to care and advocate for underserved patients. Dr. Correa worked as an attending at a community hospital in Philadelphia before returning to Michigan in 2015. Dr. Correa worked at Henry Ford Wyandotte for 6 years, before coming to Trinity Health Livonia as the Program Director in 2022. During her time there, she reinvented their Ultrasound curriculum as the ultrasound director. She started their Women in EM and Wellness initiatives and revamped their didactic curriculum. Dr. Correa is passionate about medical education and strives to continually push residency programs forward. She continues to have special interest in resident wellness, women in EM, DEI, ultrasound, and community service. In her free time, Dr. Correa enjoys spending time with her kids, playing soccer, reading books, and listening to music. |
