The program provides comprehensive clinical training in multiple fields with a focus on Internal Medicine. The rotations are divided into 28 day blocks (13 total). The curriculum includes four blocks of inpatient internal medicine, one block of the medical intensive care unit, half a block of the cardiac intensive care unit, and one block of General Internal Medicine ambulatory experience. Transitional interns also rotate through one block of Emergency Medicine and one block of Specialty Surgery. Transitional house officers have 3 to 4 blocks to devote to the electives of their choice, depending on their goals and future residency. Elective choices include a high variety of internal medicine and surgical subspecialties, dermatology, dermpathology, ophthalmology, anesthesia, PM&R (PMR), (r)Radiology, pathology, radiation oncology, research and interventional. Limited away rotations are available but must be approved through an internal application process.
