Kevin McCool, MD

Kevin McCool, MD is a board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He has a passion for providing exceptional care for women with cancer of the reproductive organs - the uterus, cervix, vagina, vulva and ovaries. Dr McCool offers comprehensive surgical and chemotherapeutic management of gynecologic cancers at our Ann Arbor and Livonia campuses.

Dr. McCool completed his medical education, PhD, and residency at the University of Wisconsin. He completed fellowship training in gynecologic oncology at the University of Michigan. His previous research has focused on the molecular origins of cancer, as well as the prevention and early detection of ovarian cancer.

Dr. McCool has been recognized by his peers as a Top Doc in Hour Detroit Magazine for his evidence-based and patient-centered approach. He strives to listen to each patient's concerns, and tries to identify options for diagnosis and management that align with their goals. Dr. McCool prides himself on providing compassionate and clear communication with patients and their loved ones.

Dr. McCool is a member of the Society of Gynecologic Oncology, and is the Trinity IHA Medical Group physician champion for the Michigan Oncology Quality Collaborative. In addition, Dr. McCool participates in clinical trials through the Michigan Cancer Research Consortium National Cancer Institute Community Oncology Research Program, to continually improve the care for women with gynecologic cancers.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Dr. McCool enjoys spending quality time with his wife, twin boys, and Bernedoodle named Honey. An avid cyclist and fly fisherman, he enjoys all that life in Michigan has to offer.
