From the very first time I met Dr Rivkin in my hospital bed I had made my mind up that I would give this a try. It was his upbeat positive attitude and I don't know if he remembers this but he said "we can beat this". I am 77 y.o a 50+ years heroin addict and here pops in this very youthful guy talking eagerly about lifestyle changes. I only tried once going to a hospital facility recovery program which didn't help at all. Discharged with no meds/script to help me with my addiction till my appointment date to see a recovery doctor! Of course, I went back to heroin so I was skeptical about Dr Rivkin's sales pitch. One year later I can now say I am a recovering heroin addict. He worked with me to get the right dosage and stressed the importance of letting him know what's going on with me - physical as well as emotional. I know my battle is for my lifetime but it really helps when an addict has a doctor who is not only professional but very personable. Dr Rivkin is a major factor with my cigarette smoking battle as well. He suggested different means to help me decrease my cigarettes from the patches,etc. When we first met I was smoking 2-3 packs a week. Now, if I do buy a pack it may last more than a week. Thanks to God, strong determination and Dr Rivkin I can proudly say I AM A RECOVERING HEROIN ADDICT!! September 28,2025 will be 1 year totally clean from heroin. "We" did it.
I felt an immediate connection and concern from Dr Rivkin. He is very easy to talk to and more importantly he actually listens. He has not only helped me with my substance problems he was a great factor in my quitting to smoke! Suggested and prescribed different alternatives. I feel he is the reason I will be 1 year clean from heroin on the 28th of September and 2 months with cigarettes. I would like to thank him and his team for their patience and kindness. My appointments are always prompt no sitting in the lobby waiting as if my time is not important. Yes, I would recommend my doctor to others. He is a doctor who is not only professional but personable. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to share.
