I am the manager for technicians in the Inpatient Pharmacy. Though I have been in this role since late November of last year, I have been with Trinity Health Ann Arbor since 2002. I have worked in pharmacy my entire career. I had an instantaneous love for Trinity Health and our work. I was raised Catholic, so it felt like a natural fit for me.
In addition to my calling to work in pharmacy, I am called by God to be a good mom of three sweet, thoughtful and energetic boys. I love my family unconditionally. Sometimes whether it be work or home life, extra prayers are needed, God always grants me the needed grace.
Mother Theresa always encouraged people who had conversations with her about mission in their lives, to start at home. So many of my family members have been treated and cared for inside the very walls of our health system. My grandpa, for many procedures both inpatient and outpatient. My grandma coded twice during her stay and received wonderful care both physically and spiritually. My dad for COVID, my mom and sisters for various surgeries. My husband after his motorcycle accident, which required multiple surgeries and such a long stay in the rehab unit. And myself, when I had my babies.
When I am making a schedule at work, I am making sure that other people’s family members have a pharmacy technician to get their much-needed medications to them. When I am labeling a patient-specific medication or delivering something to the unit, I am silently asking God to give them the healing blessings they need. I am grateful that I can help the nurses out even that little bit to ensure they have what they need to care for their patients.
Going back to Mother Theresa’s advice about staying home, this is a home to me. This is where God has called me to be. Trinity Health Michigan.
