Trinity Health Oakland is always in need of caring individuals who can volunteer to help in various areas of the Hospital. We consider each volunteer to be an integral part of our healthcare team who freely gives of their time, talent, and resources to help Trinity Health Oakland carry out its mission and core values of service to the community.
Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age at the time of applying. Additionally, those volunteers who are between the ages of 16-17 years of age will need to have a parent sign a consent form allowing you to volunteer.
The following are areas of Volunteer opportunities for consideration:

- Cancer Resource/Infusion Center
- Admitting/Radiology
- Ambulatory Surgical Center
- Greeters - 4 locations are available, including South Tower Lobby, Ambulatory Surgical Center Lobby, Woodward Professional Building Lobby and the Medical Office Lobby
- Surgical Lounge
- Spiritual Care Department (Ministers of Care and Eucharistic Ministers)
- No One Dies Alone Program (NODA) - special training required. Adults only
- Cuddler Program - special training required. Adults Only 21 years old+
- Endoscopy
- Hospitality Cart
- Office Support
- Cath Lab
- Music - using your own instrument and playing in the South Tower Lobby and/or other requested areas.
- Pre/Post Recovery Area
- Trauma Cart
KEY Requirements:
There are certain key requirements that we ask each person to meet in order to volunteer at Trinity Health Oakland Hospital. These requirements are set in place for your benefit, as well as for the benefit of our patients, visitors, and staff. Each requirement must be met before your first day of volunteering.
Application and Required Paperwork - All required paperwork to begin volunteering needs to be completed in Full before submitting it in its entirety.
Expectations - Volunteers are expected to commit to 2-4 hours each week for a minimum of a full season. (Example of a season: Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer)
Interview - All volunteer applicants will speak to a Volunteer Membership Onboarding Specialist once your completed application has been submitted. It will be at this point that the Onboarding Specialist will assign an orientation date to the applicant and discuss next steps..
Background Check - All Volunteers will be subject to a criminal background check.
Health Screening - A TB Blood test is required to volunteer, along with a record of all your up-to-date immunizations and vaccines.
Onboarding - Student Volunteer Applications are ONLY accepted TWICE A YEAR (Summer and Fall Seasons).
1. Student Volunteers (ages 18-21 years old)
FALL STUDENT Onboarding - Completed applications must be received no later than SEPTEMBER 26TH.
SUMMER STUDENT Onboarding - Completed applications must be received no later than MAY 1ST
2. Adults/Cuddler Volunteers (ages 21+), those applications are accepted ALL THROUGHOUT THE YEAR
Training/Orientation - As a new volunteer, you are required to attend and complete a scheduled Orientation that is set up during your Onboarding Discussion with the Onboarding Specialist.
