“A nurse navigator walks with the patient and family through their cancer journey,” said Maureen Kaule, RN, senior nurse navigator at Lacks Cancer Center. 

“We break down barriers, expedite the scheduling of appointments, and connect patients to resources they may need, such as a social worker, dietician, financial navigator, transportation options or assistance with insurance,” she added.

The nurse navigator is the patient’s personal point person to call with any questions.
