Financial Help
If you have concerns about medical bills or insurance, our oncology financial navigators, also known as clinical financial consultants (CFCs), can help. CFCs explain your insurance coverage and how to optimize it. We can also help you enroll in financial assistance programs.
Lymphedema Therapy
Many patients experience excess fluid buildup from lymphedema. Our team includes lymphedema-certified physical therapists who help you avoid the condition. If you have lymphedema symptoms, you receive therapies and recommendations to relieve pain, swelling and discomfort.
Nutrition Services
Our board-certified oncology dietitians offer free nutritional assessments and consultations. The right nutrition is essential if you are undergoing or recovering from cancer treatment because it helps you:
- Maintain a healthy weight and feel your best
- Supply your body with the fuel and nutrients it needs to repair and heal
- Get the best results from your treatment
Pain Management
We offer a range of options to help you get relief from pain due to cancer treatments. You can work with pain psychologists who help you manage symptoms without strong medications. We also teach you exercises or other natural methods to help you feel better.
Rehabilitation
You receive care from physical therapists with experience meeting the unique needs of patients with cancer. We guide you through exercises to help you regain your strength and relieve stiffness.
Salon and Spa Services
Our Trinity Health cancer centers offer a variety of services to support you during, and after, your cancer treatment. Services will vary at each location, consult with your health care team to learn more about the services available for you.
- Mastectomy fittings – If you’ve had or will be having a mastectomy, lumpectomy, or other breast surgery; we have trained fitters available to fit you with breast prostheses. Our salons have a selection of mastectomy bras, swim forms, and camisoles to help you feel your best.
- Head coverings – For those wishing to cover cancer-related hair loss, our trained staff offer wig consultations and fittings to help you find the right covering for your unique style! We have a variety of wigs, scarves, turbans, and hats, with and without hair to choose from. Some locations may provide these consultations complimentary.
- Head-shaving services – Select locations may offer oncology patients a complimentary head shaving and first post-chemo haircut.
- Massage – Some of our cancer centers offer gentle massage to promote relaxation and relieve muscle tension. We will customize the massage for your needs.
- In-patient room visits – We have a variety of services including shampoo and haircuts available upon request and coordination with your in-patient care team.
Social Workers
Our oncology social workers assist you with emotional and practical needs when you’re coping with cancer. We can help you:
- Find transportation to and from your appointments
- Connect you with community resources and support groups
- Consider your treatment options and how they fit into your life
- Coordinate home health care, palliative care support or hospice care
- Cope with emotions
- Obtain durable medical equipment, like a cane or walker
- Understand your diagnosis and treatments
- Understand Social Security benefits and disability benefits
Spiritual Care
We recognize the spiritual connection between mind and body that affects each person's health and well-being. Our oncology chaplains specialize in helping people of all faiths gain peace of mind throughout cancer treatment.
Support Groups
We help you get involved in support groups and community organizations that promote emotional healing. Our team has information about cancer-specific support groups in Southeast or West Michigan, as well as online support groups. If a family member or caregiver needs support, we can help with that, too.
