Matt Kolevar, MD is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic sports medicine surgeon. His clinical interests include arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, hip, and knee, and shoulder replacement. Dr. Kolevar specializes in ligament repair and reconstruction, joint preservation, minimally invasive surgery, and complex knee and shoulder surgery. Common procedures he performs include ACL reconstruction, meniscus repair, rotator cuff repair, labral repair of the shoulder and the hip, and shoulder arthroplasty.

Dr. Kolevar enjoys taking care of athletes of all ages and specializes in the operative and non-operative treatment of sports injuries. He currently serves as a team physician for Grand Valley State University, and has previously served as an assistant team physician for the Pittsburgh Penguins (NHL), Duquesne University (Football and Men’s Soccer, D1), and University of Pittsburgh (Men’s Basketball, D1).

Dr Kolevar was very quick to find the cause of my shoulder pain. He is very friendly and made me feel comfortable. He recommended some medication and physical therapy. Eventually I may need surgery but will begin with medication and therapy. I leave on holiday in March. When I return I will have a follow up appointment with Dr Kolevar. I shall look forward to seeing him again I have complete confidence in his diagnosis and my care

Dr Kolevar was very attentive, listened to my concerns and discussed appropriate treatment options. His assitance, Lex is amazing as well. Normally a providers office will get back to patients within a day or two. Lex was extremely responsive and if the question was during business hours, she responded within an hour or two.
