Dr. Skallerup attended medical school at the University of Illinois. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Edward G. Hines Hospital in Hines, Illinois. He worked in private practice at Cardiovascular Associates of Harlingen, Texas before completing his fellowship in cardiology at Loyola University Medical Center.
