HOWELL, Mich. (Feb. 20, 2019) – On Saturday, April 13, more than 400 business leaders and community members will gather at Crystal Gardens Banquet Center in Howell for the annual St. Joseph Mercy Livingston Ball. Proceeds from the event, an islandinspired theme, Aloha Soirée, will support the ongoing Transformation project at St. Joe's Livingston hospital and the St. Joseph Mercy Brighton health center.
"Once again we are delighted to come together with local leaders to support the medical needs of our patients," said John O'Malley, president of St. Joseph Mercy Livingston and St. Joseph Mercy Brighton. "The Transformation project has helped elevate the health and well-being of our community and has brought medical treatment closer to home for local residents."
The Transformation project has invested $41.1 million into numerous care delivery and facility enhancements at St. Joe’s Livingston and Brighton since 2015. At St. Joe's Livingston hospital, this includes a new state-of-the-art surgical suite and the addition of a da Vinci robotic system that has made available minimally invasive advanced general surgery, hernia surgery, bariatric surgery, gynecological, colon and urological procedures. At the Brighton health center, St. Joe's opened the state's first short-stay center and a comprehensive breast-imaging center.
"As Livingston County residents for over 40 years, we understand and appreciate the importance of having world class medicine, diagnostics, treatment and care right here in our own vibrant community," said Renee and Ed Chodkowski, co-chairs of this year's ball. "We are delighted to lead this event to show our appreciation."
The Aloha Soirée is a nod to the traditional Hawaiian luau and will feature live music by the Killer Flamingos, a Polynesian dance performance, a gourmet meal with tropical flare, and other live entertainment.
This year's $15,000 Exclusive Presenting Sponsor is WellBridge of Brighton/WellBridge of Pinckney. WellBridge of Brighton was recently recognized as a 2018 recipient of the American Health Care Association Silver - Achievement of Quality Award; given to post-acute care facilities that demonstrate dedication to improving the lives of residents through quality care.
In addition, Platinum Sponsors donating $10,000 are Lake Trust Credit Union and Smoothie King; and Gold Sponsors donating $7,500 include Anesthesia Associates of Ann Arbor, PLLC; Emergency Physicians Medical Group, PC, and IHA.
Sponsorships and tickets to this event are still available. For more information, please contact the hospital's Office of Development at 517-545-5151.
