About this event
Focus will be on your first two weeks breastfeeding baby to help you gain knowledge and confidence, whether this is your first baby or you are looking for a better experience this time around!Register only for yourself. Your partner is free! (and encouraged to attend!) Cancellations received less than 48 hours prior to start of class cannot be transferred/refunded.
Class offers expectant mothers and their support person/partner instruction on breastfeeding techniques. Focus will be on your first two weeks breastfeeding baby to help you gain knowledge and confidence, whether this is your first baby or you are looking for a better experience this time around! Besides the basics of getting you off to a good start, topics may include latching-on, positions for holding baby while nursing, feeding cues, breast pumps/milk storage, tips on going back to work, and challenges you might encounter. (Husbands/partners are encouraged to attend with mom) One adult, support person may accompany mommy-to-be and does not need to register or be added as 'additional attendee'
Reimbursed by some health insurances - verification form available from instructor at end of class - check with your insurance carrier!
Once you arrive on the St Joseph Mercy Hospital campus, follow the signs to the "Specialty Centers" area. Class is on the 2nd floor in the Women's Health Center.
