I feel very fortunate to have Dr. Slavin as my rheumatologist. I don't understand why he cannot do a telehealth visit when I am out of state. Everyone is so mobile in today's world, it is a shame that patients are unable to have virtual consultations across a state line. I know this is not his decision, but Trinity or the state of Michigan. So frustrating to have it interfere with patient care.

Dr. Slavin is a wonderful physician because he listens, he takes my opinions and preferences into consideration, he explains and does all of it with kindness and professionalism. He treats me as a person, not simply treating the condition.

I was worried when my doctor left and I had to get a new one. Dr Slavin is absolutely wonderful and it turns out I had nothing to worry about. He listened and worked with me to try different meds when the one I was on became less effective. He spent lots of time dealing with my insurance company with each new med until we found one that I felt like worked better. He listens, he is kind and gentle and he is a pleasure to chat with.

I appreciate that he allowed me the option of choosing between two drugs. I'm just disappointed that there was not the opportunity to talk about the disease, the prognosis, or other ways I can support my body along with medication. I was also confused as to why the care summary included subjects he said were discussed but were not.
